» Injunctions
When urgent action is required Etheringtons can help
An injunction is a court order that forces a person or company to do a certain thing or to prohibit something that is about to or has commenced.
For example
- A freeze on assets
- A halt to broadcast or publication
- A halt to further activity (like a sale)
Injunctions are generally an emergency measure that stops activity that has already commenced or about to commence. This allows the parties to gather appropriate facts and take further action. You might use it for example, to stop the sale of something which you may an interest in. The injunction can be done as a temporary measure to buy some time for us to investigate your claim.
