We understand the complexities of the WorkChoices legislation and we can advise if they apply and how the myriad of provisions affect your business. We can assist you in updating your contracts of employment to comply with WorkChoices. We can also advise you if your business is contravening any legislative requirements.

We can also assist you if you wish to terminate the services of an employee and advise you how to do so without leaving you susceptible to litigation. In the event that an employee does take legal proceedings against you, we can defend the proceedings on your behalf. Most of the proceedings we act in are resolved at Conciliation Hearings by the parties entering into a resolution, usually encompassing a mutual confidentiality obligation which can protect you from publicity, and from added legal costs.

We appear at the Federal and State Industrial Relations Court as well as in the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission, for claims regarding discrimination. We can advise you if you are the subject of an allegation of discriminating against an employee on the grounds of their race, ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability or pregnancy.
