You can challenge a Will if you have ever been dependent on the person who has died. A good example is a son or a daughter can challenge a Will, a husband or wife can challenge a Will, but also people who have ever been financially dependent. For example if you have ever shared a house with somebody and they’ve put a roof over your head and fed you, you can also challenge a will. There are some very short time frames, so you’ve only ever got 12 months to challenge a Will so if you think that you have been unfairly treated in a will, you’ve got to get legal advice very quickly.
